About 3D Archery

3D Archery puts you at the shooting line of a full first-person archery range. Five targets are set at three distances — 15, 25, and 42 metres — each with classic FITA coloured scoring rings: white, black, blue, red, and gold. The further the target, the wider the ring radii, but the drop of gravity means you'll need to aim higher on far shots.

Hold the left mouse button to draw your bow. As you hold, the field of view narrows for a more focused aim, a power ring fills around the crosshair, and a natural sway builds up — just like real muscle fatigue. Hold longer for a faster, flatter shot; release too early and the arrow will fall short. Every round a new wind blows across the range — watch the flag to know which way to compensate. Six arrows per round, maximum 60 points.

How to Play 3D Archery

  1. Click Play — your pointer will be locked to the game. Move the mouse to aim at any target
  2. Hold the left mouse button to draw the bow. The power ring fills and the view zooms in
  3. Release the mouse button to loose the arrow. It will arc under gravity toward the target
  4. Arrows that hit the gold centre score 10 pts (BULLSEYE!); outer rings score down to 1 pt
  5. Watch the wind badge — arrows drift in wind, especially at the 42 m targets
  6. You have 6 arrows per round for a maximum of 60 points. Try to beat your best score!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my arrow miss targets at range?

Gravity pulls arrows downward in flight. At 25 m and 42 m you must aim slightly above the target centre to compensate. The longer you draw (higher power), the flatter the trajectory — a full draw at 42 m needs much less elevation hold than a half draw.

What does the power ring show?

It fills clockwise as you draw. A full ring means full draw power, giving maximum launch speed (about 66 units/s). Releasing at 50% gives a slower, more arcing shot. Full draw also reduces hand sway for a steadier aim.

Is my best score saved?

Yes — your best round score is saved in the browser via localStorage and displayed on the round-end screen after each game.

Can I play on mobile?

This game uses Pointer Lock API for mouse-look aiming, which is not available on mobile browsers. A desktop or laptop with a mouse is required.
