About Gameszest

Built by Ashes Roy — an independent developer based in India who just wanted to play games without the hassle.

Why This Exists

Hi, I'm Ashes Roy — an independent developer based in India. Gameszest started from a simple frustration: most browser game sites are terrible to use. Slow load times, autoplaying ads, login walls before you can do anything, broken games that haven't worked in years — the experience hadn't improved in a decade.

So I built what I actually wanted. A single-developer side project: no team, no outside funding. The site uses Google AdSense display ads to cover hosting costs — none run inside the games themselves. Every game is hand-embedded, tested on real hardware, and only published when it runs cleanly from start to finish. The goal is a site you can bookmark, send to a friend, and still trust in a year.

Right now the library is deliberately small. I'd rather have 18 games that all work than 500 that don't.

How Games Get On Here

Every game goes through the same checklist before it's published. If it fails any point it doesn't go up — or it gets fixed first.

  1. 01
    Runs entirely client-side

No server calls during gameplay. Once loaded, the game logic runs entirely in your browser.

  2. 02
    Playable within 30 seconds

If you need to read a manual to understand the controls, it's too complicated for a casual session.

  3. 03
    No in-game ads or redirects

The game runs in a sandboxed iframe. It can't open pop-ups or redirect to other sites. Display ads appear on the page wrapper — never inside the game.

  4. 04
    Stable on mid-range hardware

Tested on a mid-range laptop and an older Android phone. If it drops below 30 fps it's not published.

  5. 05
Works on desktop and mobile where possible

Most games include native touch controls or on-screen buttons. A few require a keyboard — each game page says clearly which applies.

  6. 06
    Complete, not a demo

Has a win state, a loop, or an endless mode. Not a prototype with placeholder screens.

The Actual Rules

No account, ever

We don't collect email addresses or create profiles. There is no login. There is no "free trial."

Free means free

No paywalled content, no premium tier, no "watch an ad to continue." Every game, always, for everyone.

Sandboxed games

Every game runs in an iframe with a strict sandbox. It can't access your clipboard, camera, or other browser tabs.

No download, no plugin

HTML5 and WebGL only. No Flash, no Unity Web Player, no executable. If your browser is modern, it works.
