Jump behind the wheel of a neon-lit race car and tear around a twisting floodlit circuit for 3 laps. Hold the handbrake through corners to break rear traction, send the car sideways, and rack up massive drift bonus points — the longer the slide, the bigger the combo multiplier.
Race against the clock, beat your best lap, and earn a final score combining your race time with all the drift points you banked. Built entirely with Three.js and Cannon-ES physics — no plugins, no downloads.
How to Play 3D Drift Racing
- W or Up Arrow to accelerate, S or Down Arrow to brake or reverse
- A/D or Left/Right Arrow to steer
- Hold Space to activate the handbrake — this drops rear traction and triggers a drift
- Keep sliding to build your drift combo multiplier — release Space to bank the points
- Complete 3 laps through all 16 checkpoints as fast as possible
- Press R to reset the car to the last checkpoint if you get stuck
- Your final score combines race time bonus with total drift points
Frequently Asked Questions
How does drifting work?
Hold Space (handbrake) while steering through a corner. This cuts rear wheel friction, letting the back end slide out. The longer and faster the slide, the more drift points you earn.
What are checkpoints?
There are 16 invisible checkpoints around the circuit. You must pass through them in order — this prevents shortcutting. The start/finish line is checkpoint 0.
How is the final score calculated?
Score = max(0, 30000 - totalRaceTime×80) + totalDriftPoints. Fast laps and big drifts both contribute.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes — on touch devices, use the left side of the screen as a virtual joystick for steering and throttle/brake, and the DRIFT button on the right for handbrake.
