Introducing BreakTime — Set a Timer So Your Gaming Break Actually Ends
Gameszest's new BreakTime feature lets you set a countdown timer with a personal reminder, so a five-minute break doesn't quietly become two hours.

You open a quick game of 3D City Runner during a break. Just five minutes, you tell yourself. Forty minutes later, you’re on your sixth run and your coffee is cold.
It happens to everyone. Browser games are designed to be frictionless — no loading screens, no install, nothing between you and the next run. That same quality that makes them perfect for short breaks also makes it easy to lose track of time entirely.
Today we’re launching BreakTime — a simple timer built directly into Gameszest that lets you set a countdown before you start playing, so your break actually ends when it should.
How It Works
Hit the BreakTime 🔥 button in the navigation bar at the top of any page. A small modal opens with two inputs:
- Hours — up to 5 hours
- Minutes — 0 to 59
Set how long you want your break to be. Optionally, add a reminder note — something like “Back to the report” or “Team meeting at 3pm” — so you remember exactly why you set the timer in the first place.
Press Start Timer and a live countdown badge appears in the navbar, ticking down in red. It stays visible on every page as you browse games or switch between them, so you always know how much time you have left.
When the Timer Ends
When your countdown reaches zero, a notification dialog appears with your original reminder text. You have two choices:
- Keep Playing 🎮 — dismiss the notification and carry on
- Close Tab — end the session and close the browser tab
The timer is built to survive page navigation. If you start a timer on the home page and then open a game, the countdown continues uninterrupted. It is stored locally in your browser, so it persists even if you accidentally reload.
Why We Built This
Gameszest is designed for casual play — quick sessions between tasks, a game during lunch, something to unwind with after work. The games here are intentionally lightweight and instant. But lightweight and instant can turn into “just one more run” faster than most people expect.
BreakTime gives you a way to play with intention. Set the time you actually have, add a note about what comes next, and let the timer do the rest. It keeps the experience enjoyable without the guilt of a break that ran away from you.
Try It Now
The BreakTime button is in the top navigation bar on every page of Gameszest. It works on desktop and mobile. No account needed, no settings to configure — just set a time and play.
Games like 3D City Runner are perfect for a timed session. Runs are short, the score resets cleanly, and there is always a natural moment to stop. Set a 15-minute timer, chase a high score, and you will have a clean exit point when the notification arrives.
Good luck with the break.
